Forsters appoints new partner to further strengthen its leading Real Estate practice

Oliver Wright, a specialist planning lawyer, has been promoted to partner in the Planning team.

The announcement comes at the end of another year of significant growth for the Mayfair firm. Paul Roberts, Managing Partner at Forsters said: “We have had another stand-out year at Forsters and as such are continuing to grow our market leading real estate practice through another senior appointment.

“Oliver has been an important member of the Planning team, working with Head of Planning, Tim Taylor, to help drive the practice forward. This has resulted in the team’s turnover doubling in the last three years and a number of high profile appointments, including Greenwich Peninsula and Vauxhall Cross.”

Tim Taylor added: “Forsters’ Planning practice has gone from strength to strength over recent years and Oliver has made a significant contribution to the team’s success. His technical knowledge of the ever-changing planning environment combined with his commercial approach is valued by clients.”

Recognised as a ‘Star Associate’ for Planning (London) in both the 2013 and 2014 edition of Chambers, Oliver has worked on a number of high profile planning applications for tall towers in both Canary Wharf and the City of London. He acts for developers on residential and commercial regeneration projects, with clients including Knight Dragon Investments Ltd, McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd and British Airways Trustees Ltd, and acts for acquiring authorities and owners affected by Compulsory Purchase Orders. Oliver joined Forsters in 2011 from Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, having qualified in 2004. He is a dual qualified solicitor and barrister.

Oliver commented: “I am delighted to have become a partner in such a well-regarded team, which is fast becoming a go-to practice for some of the most significant planning applications in the capital. With such a strong team, I know we can continue to build on the successes so far and further enhance Forsters’ already outstanding reputation in real estate planning law.”
