Tax and succession
This is at the heart of our landed estates practice. Over many years, our lawyers have helped owners and trustees to minimise the effect of capital taxation and family disputes by careful planning that is sensitive to individual needs. No two cases are the same. Many of our clients are firmly based in the UK but we also advise landowners who are domiciled elsewhere. Our lawyers combine specialist tax and trust experience with practical knowledge of landowners’ requirements.
There are also occasions on which families and trustees need litigation advice and our team of trust litigators is able to guide clients through this difficult process with skill and sensitivity.
In recent months we have been guiding clients through the pitfalls of trust taxation following the Finance Act 2006. By combining our taxation skills with our understanding of trust law we have enabled assets to be kept together and continue to pass down the generations.
