Collaborative Law

The following members of our team are trained as Collaborative lawyers: Ann Northover, Shona Alexander, Laura Brown, Spencer Clarke and Christine Gentry.

Our aim is to provide a complete range of services to our clients and to have the most appropriate process option readily available which may not always be the traditional Court based approach. The collaborative family law process is a relatively new way of dealing with family disputes and is designed to be a progressive and logical approach to resolving family disputes without going to court.

In brief, each person appoints their own lawyer but instead of conducting negotiations at arms length through correspondence, they meet together in a series of “4 way” meetings to work things out face to face, resulting in a Consent Order.

Each person has their lawyer by their side throughout the entire process and therefore benefits from legal advice as they move forwards.

One of the benefits of the collaborative process is that it is not driven by a timetable imposed by the court. Therefore to a large extent the process can be built around the client’s individual timetable and priorities.

For further information regarding the collaborative family law process, please contact
Ann Northover or Shona Alexander.
