Emily Exton quoted in The Brief on the importance of the Supreme Court Ilott v Mitson judgment

Emily Exton, Head of Dispute Resolution at Forsters LLP, was quoted in The Times law newsletter The Brief on the Ilott v Mitson Supreme Court ruling.

The Supreme Court addressed questions of what responsibilities parents have towards their children once they are adults and how the "needs" of those children should be weighed against the interests of those whom the deceased has chosen to benefit.  The Judgment is therefore hugely significant for those making their Wills, their prospective beneficiaries and those advising them. The Supreme Court has confirmed that the freedom to leave your estate to whomever you choose remains a key principle of English law.
