Christine Abbotts

Senior Associate, Family

Christine is a collaboratively trained Senior Associate in Forsters’ Family team. She advises high net worth individuals on all aspects of family law, including divorce and separation, financial claims, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation disputes and issues regarding private children law.

Christine has particular expertise in contentious children cases; she has experience of working with independent social workers and guardians to achieve the best results for her clients. Clients trust Christine's assuring and focused manner to guide them through their case.

She has developed her practice to include modern forms of dispute resolution, including private conciliation hearings and round-table meetings; having acted for a number of high profile, high net worth individuals for whom discretion, efficiency and privacy are vital considerations. Christine also has experience of taking matters to court when necessary, having worked on cases that have been heard in the Central Family Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.

She is a published family law commentator with articles published in Yourmoney.com and the Family Law Journal on the topics of gender inequality within spousal maintenance and non-disclosure of assets upon divorce.

Christine studied Law at Durham University. She completed the LPC at BPP Law School.
