Lucy Zaremba

Counsel, Property Litigation

Lucy is Counsel in the property litigation team, she advises on a broad range of property disputes with a particular specialism in residential disputes and leasehold enfranchisement.

Her work includes a broad range of residential landlord and tenant litigation, including service charge disputes, recovery of arrears, section 20 consultation, breach of covenant issues, disrepair, termination of long leases and possession claims. She has particular expertise in residential property management and all aspects of contentious leasehold enfranchisement, right to manage claims and the 1987 Act Rights of First Refusal. 

Lucy also acts on property contract disputes, including enforcement of sale contracts; creation and enforcement of easements and other property rights; boundary and other neighbour disputes; Party Wall etc. Act issues; nuisance actions; bringing and defending claims for injunctions to enforce or protect property rights and professional negligence actions concerning property.

Her clients include developers, landlords and leaseholders; including settled estates and high net worth individuals. 

Lucy joined Forsters from Edwin Coe in September 2017.

She was shortlisted for Solicitor of the Year at the 2021 Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards.

Lucy was promoted to Counsel in April 2023.


Commonhold, The Law Commission's final report

The Law Commission has today published its three final reports on leasehold reform and the future of home ownership. Their recommendations about leasehold enfranchisement and the right to manage are aimed at improving the existing system of leasehold ownership, whilst the third report about commonhold seeks to create a viable alternative to leasehold ownership, with a view to its widespread use in the future.
