Matthew Brunsdon-Tully quoted in the Financial Times on divorce settlements amid Covid-19

Family partner, Matthew Brunsdon-Tully’s comments have been published in the Financial Times’ article entitled ‘UK divorce settlements challenged as finances become strained’.

The article focuses on the likely surge of work from individuals seeking to challenge their current divorce settlement in light of a change in their financial circumstances due to Covid-19. In his comments, Matthew recommends that before seeking to vary obligations, divorcees should explore a temporary reduction of payments by consent.

Matthew explains that during this difficult time, when clients are considering whether to seek to vary or even try to set aside or appeal financial orders, it is important that clients “know that we’re here for them and can advise them on what to do”.
