Guy Mawson

Senior Associate, Family

Guy is a Senior Associate in the Family team. He advises on all aspects of private family law including divorce and separation, financial claims (for married and unmarried couples), pre- and post-nuptial agreements and private children law matters.

He has significant experience in acting for high net worth clients whose cases often involve financial complexities, such as business valuations and trust structures, including those with an offshore element. Guy has also acted for a number of clients with a high profile for whom reputation management is a key consideration.

Guy acts for parents to resolve the arrangements for their children, including in cases where one parent wishes to relocate, either internally or abroad. He has also represented parents in cases where serious allegations are made and when social services or the police may be involved.

He approaches cases in a sensitive, diplomatic, and commercial manner. Whilst Guy has extensive experience in resolving disputes through the court where necessary, he is committed to identifying the best approach in any given case and settling where possible to achieve a fair and timely outcome.

Guy is ranked in the 2023 edition of The Legal 500 and listed as a Rising Star in Spear's Family Law Index 2023.

Guy joined Forsters in November 2021, having previously worked at Harbottle & Lewis. Prior to that he trained and qualified at Lee & Thompson. Guy graduated from the University of Bristol with a First in Economics and Politics, before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law, Bar Vocational Course, and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.
