Nicola WeilSenior Associate, Private Client
Nicola is a senior associate in the Private Client department. She helps clients to manage their succession planning for the orderly transfer of their wealth to the next generation, taking into consideration local and international tax and cultural issues. She advises her clients on how to structure their assets in the most tax efficient way, at the same time, taking into account asset protection issues.
A key area of Nicola's work is advising internationally mobile clients, particularly those coming to or leaving the UK. She also advises institutional clients on trust and UK tax issues.
She is well placed to assist clients with reviewing their tax affairs in the context of frequent tax regime changes. She ensures that clients are kept up-to-date with legislative change as and when it occurs. She is focused on providing clear and practical advice, drawing on extensive technical knowledge and experience gained through working in private practice and in-house for a Swiss based trust company.
Nicola joined Forsters with the rest of the Gowling WLG London Private Client team in May 2017, having been at Gowling WLG's predecessor firm Lawrence Graham LLP. She also gained experience at Charles Russell, Rooks Rider, Rothschild Trust and Osborne Clarke. She qualified in 1987 and is a member of STEP.
