Thomas is an Associate in the Rural Land and Business team.

Thomas acts on rural and agricultural transactions, including the purchase and sale, re-financing and management of country houses, farms, and estates, and has a strong interest in historical properties and architecture. He advises on Agricultural Holdings Act and Farm Business Tenancies, renewable energy, housing development and estate matters including easements and shooting rights.

Thomas also advises on Conservation Covenants and other legal frameworks for landowners to exploit Natural Capital and secure public and private funding for conservation and habitat enhancement, including Biodiversity Net Gain Credits. This includes how legal structures can be used to allow multiple landowners to collaborate to pursue conservation goals and secure a wider range of funding, including Landscape Recovery Schemes, the largest and most ambitious of the new Environmental Land Management Schemes.

Thomas read History at Christ's College, Cambridge, trained at Forsters and qualified in 2020.
