Katie ColesSenior Associate, Private Client
Katie is a Solicitor in Forsters' Private Client team. She advises UK and international individuals and trustees on tax, trust, estate and succession planning issues, including philanthropy.
She has a particular focus on trusts and charitable entities, heritage property and UK high net worth immigration. Katie also deals with the administration of estates.
In her philanthropy work Katie particularly enjoys helping clients find the best way to structure their charitable giving, from establishing their own charitable entity, to tax-efficient giving through their wills, “donor advised funds” or making direct gifts.
Katie is fluent in Spanish, has a degree in Law with International Legal Studies and a Masters in Law. She completed her LPC at the College of Law in London and started her professional career at Lawrence Graham (now Gowling WLG). She joined Forsters in 2016.
The Government has announced that it will introduce a temporary change in the law to allow wills to be witnessed using video technology during the coronavirus pandemic. It is set to come into force in September, but will apply retrospectively to wills executed from 31 January 2020.
