Victoria Salter-Galbraith

Victoria is Counsel in our Landed Estates team.

She regularly acts in the sale and purchase of country houses and has a special interest in listed buildings. Many of the transactions on which Victoria is instructed involve properties which are ‘off-market’ and require exchange of contracts in a matter of days from receipt of first instructions.

Victoria frequently deals with both the acquisition and disposal of agricultural land and tenancies of the same. Victoria has experience of acting for the owners of rural property in realising its development potential. In this sense, Victoria has acted for clients in the negotiation of Option Agreements, Development Agreements and Promotion Agreements.

She also advises clients on matters which arise in the course of on-going Estate management, such as granting residential tenancies, commercial leases and grazing licences; negotiating easements; and refinancing. Victoria also has particular experience in both making and defending claims for adverse possession.

Victoria prides herself on her attention to detail and her ability to guide clients through difficult and often time-pressured transactions. Victoria grew up in rural Hampshire and finds this understanding of country life to be a real benefit to her clients.

She studied Law with European Legal Studies at the University of Southampton, graduating in 2011. As part of her degree, Victoria spent one year studying law at the Università degli Studi di Bologna, Italy.

Victoria was named as one of the CityWealth Top 100 Future Leaders in 2018 and most recently named in the CityWealth Leaders List 2020 for Landed Estates & Property.
