Forsters acts for BA Pensions on 350,000 sq ft warehouse prelet
Forsters has acted for longstanding client BA Pensions on what is said to be the biggest prelet in the north-east for a decade. Distribution company Clipper Logistics will occupy a new 343,000 sq ft warehouse at Wynyard Park, Stockton on Tees, which is scheduled for completion in September 2012, on a new 16 year lease. The development is being managed for British Airways Pension Trustees by Sladen Estates.
Clipper will distribute clothing for George at Asda and will operate a “multi user facility” in the remaining space. Together with Asda, Clipper is investing millions of pounds fitting out the unit to produce a “garment processing hub” that will include a large mezzanine floor with an automated garment -hanging system. The building will provide a footprint of 343,000 sq. ft. and will include an administration block and offices at either end of the building of nearly 20,000 sq ft.
Forsters commercial property partner Magnus Hassett acted for BA Pensions together with construction partner, Sarah Cook who was assisted by Emily Holdstock. Nick Wilford of Blacks in Leeds acted for Clipper Logistics.
