Senior Associate, Construction

Emily is a solicitor in the Construction team.  She specialises in non-contentious construction matters, including providing advice on and negotiating JCT forms of building contract together with drafting, appraising and negotiating amendments to professional team appointments and collateral warranties/third party rights to be provided by contractors, sub-contractors and the professional team.

Emily advises on a range of methods of procurement including traditional procurement, design and build procurement and construction management.

She regularly acts for developers and others carrying out or funding works.  In doing so, she works closely with Forsters' commercial real estate team to ensure that the requirements of funders, tenants and purchasers are reflected in the construction documentation for the development.

Emily also provides advice regarding the legal position of purchasers and tenants acquiring an interest in recently constructed developments.  She has experience in advising high net worth individuals carrying out fit-out works to and/or developing residential property.

Emily qualified into Forsters construction team in 2010 having trained with the firm.

Emily is named in the 2012 Edition of Legal 500 and is described by clients as "diligent".

"The firm has a long history, which gives it gravitas, but it is actually quite young, which reflects in the outlook of its lawyers.  People like working with each other and that helps with the sense of camaraderie and mutual support."
