Emily Holdstock

Partner, Construction

Emily is a Partner in the Construction team.

She has extensive experience in non-contentious construction matters, including drafting and negotiating building contracts, sub-contracts, forms of security, appointments and collateral warranties/third party rights. Emily advises clients in respect of all methods of procurement and works with JCT, FIDIC, NEC, MF/1 and bespoke forms of contract.

Emily is also experienced in dealing with contentious construction matters, with her main aim being to assist her clients in achieving the earliest possible resolution of any dispute. She particularly enjoys advising clients on strategic issues which arise both during works on site and after practical completion, with recent advice including how to get development projects back on site after a main contractor insolvency and how to deal with the remediation of substantial defects, whilst preserving the contractual rights of her clients to bring claims against those responsible. Emily also deals with claims on surety documentation and professional negligence claims.

She qualified into Forsters' Construction team in 2010 having trained with the firm.

Emily is also our Graduate Recruitment Partner and oversees Forsters' Graduate Recruitment process.
