Forsters expands its top-ranked Contentious Trusts and Estates practice with the hire of highly regarded partner Roberta Harvey

Roberta Harvey’s arrival consolidates Forsters’ reputation as one of the leading Contentious Trusts and Estates (CTE) practices in the London market.

Forsters has further expanded with the lateral hire of partner Roberta Harvey from Charles Russell Speechlys. She joins the firm today, taking the total partnership to 56.

Roberta will join partners Emily Exton and Catharine Bell as part of the firm's dedicated CTE practice. She has particular experience and expertise in conducting complex trust and estate disputes both in the UK and offshore. Emily Exton, Head of Dispute Resolution and CTE partner commented: “Roberta’s arrival signals Forsters' clear commitment to CTE work. This is an important part of our overall Private Wealth offering and as a three partner practice we will be able to provide clients with an enhanced approach and service.”

Roberta Harvey commented “I am delighted to join Emily and Catharine. Our combined ability to advise clients across a wide range of complex and demanding matters both in this jurisdiction and internationally will ensure that Forsters remains a leading player in the CTE market.”

Roberta is highly regarded in the Private Wealth sector and is one of the leading lawyers within this area. Commentators say Roberta is “technically strong and very pragmatic” (The Legal 500, 2019) and "She is a real force of nature and is very pugnacious. Clients know she is on their side.” (Chambers HNW Guide, 2018).

The practice works together with the firm's well established and top ranked Private Wealth team (comprising 21 partners and 38 associates) which offers advice on all aspects of domestic and international wealth planning including matrimonial matters.

Our Insights

"This practice specialises in property and all staff that we have encountered in the construction department are knowledgeable and commercial. They respond quickly, often advising us what to do rather than simply quoting the law."
