Fiona Smith quoted in Good Housekeeping on writing a will

Private Client Partner, Fiona Smith’s comments were published in the Good Housekeeping article entitled ‘Why writing a will is so important’.

In her comments Fiona discusses the inheritance tax benefits of gifting money to charity in your will. She explains that “Gifts to charities are tax free. If you leave 10% or more of your net estate to charity, the tax rate applicable to the rest of your estate is also reduced from 40% to 36%”.
