Head of Residential Property, Lucy Barber, was quoted in The Times article entitled 'The frantic race for the stamp duty deadline'.

Currently, more than 700,000 buyers are racing to move before June 30 to save up to £15,000 in stamp duty. This "sales rush has put pressure on the conveyancing firms that do all the legal paperwork for property sales", Lucy explains.

She highlights that the race to utilise the SDLT holiday may lead buyers to pay more for solicitors that can guarantee a bespoke service, and therefore provide the best chance of completion before the deadline.
