James Brockhurst

Senior Associate, Private Client

James is a senior associate in the Private Client team. He advises clients on a range of succession planning, international structuring and taxation matters. His clients include high net worth individuals, trustees, family offices, private banks and charities.

Most of his work has an international element, in particular advising Middle Eastern and Asian clients. He seeks to understand clients' broader business affairs, investment strategies and attitudes towards risk.

He has advised on crypto assets since 2015, being one of the first lawyers to develop an expertise in the area. This includes the structuring of ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings).

James is a member of STEP and holds the STEP 'Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients'.  He holds a masters' degree which focused on international tax law.

In both 2016 and 2017, James was named as one of ePrivate Client's Top 35 under 35 and has also been named by Citywealth as a 'Future Leader' and 'Prominent Figure'.

James joined Forsters in May 2017.  He qualified in 2012 and trained at Westminster firm Lee Bolton Monier-Williams.
