Rachel is an Associate in our Employment and Partnerships team.

With a broad experience across the spectrum of contentious and non-contention employment matters, Rachel approaches each matter with the client’s needs and commercial approach front and centre.

Rachel has acted for both employee and employer clients in litigation, as well as advising on redundancies, TUPE matters, and settlement agreements.

Her experience also includes supporting senior executives through all stages of the employment relationship from inception to exit.

She has advised on restructurings, redundancies, TUPE and the employment aspects arising from corporate transactions. This includes advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures, and drafting employment documentation. Her experience supporting individuals includes advising senior executives on all areas of their employment, including negotiating service and settlement agreements.

Nina Gilroy

Danielle Crawford

With deep knowledge and experience of dealing with highly complex and sensitive issues, Danielle understands the importance of being pragmatic, responsive and empathetic. She is driven by fostering strong client relationships, built on collaboration and trust, to reach successful outcomes.

She advises employers and individuals on a wide range of employment and partnership issues. Her experience is diverse and includes HR advisory work, investigations into complex whistleblowing complaints, settlement negotiations, dismissals, partnerships disputes and supporting clients with judicial mediation and employment tribunal cases. Danielle also delivers training and seminars on various employment topics. She joined Forsters in 2024 from Winckworth Sherwood, where she spent 16 years.

Outside of work, Danielle is committed to making a positive difference to people and communities. Most recently this has included her being actively involved in charitable initiatives such as employment law clinics and being the Chair and a trustee of a parent teacher association.

Since April 2024, Danielle has co-led the firm’s Pro Bono Committee driving progress and performance aligned with the firm’s commitment to creating a culture where our people make a positive contribution to our communities.

His mix of experience across non-contentious and contentious work has enabled him to support clients in litigation, dispute resolution, settlement agreements and wider-scale changes in the workforce, for clients in a range of sectors, including professional services, banking, global logistics, data analysis and private equity. Most recently, he has successfully defended wide-ranging and historic claims and allegations in the Employment Tribunal, achieved successful settlements in a number of employee competition cases and supported the successful resolution of a multi-million pound harassment claim against an LLP.

With an appreciation that success isn’t about resolution alone, but also the journey towards achieving it — Joe is known for his commitment to developing client relationships built on trust, empathy and a deep understanding of their needs.

With more than 15 years’ experience, he is a trusted advisor to a diverse set of businesses and individuals. Joe is particularly known for his expertise in employment litigation, disciplinary investigations, corporate transactions and redundancies. He also advises clients on data protection matters and whistleblowing complaints. As a member of our Senior Executives Advisory team he provides advice and support to internationally mobile senior executives on tax, employment and immigration. He co-heads our Pro Bono Committee and is a member on the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Before joining Forsters in 2018, he was at Clifford Chance LLP, where he completed secondments at two global banks and a national retailer.

Joe understands the many varied reasons why clients need our support, and that the answers may not always be straightforward. Getting it right requires a balanced and measured approach, deep technical expertise, creativity and empathy. Joe brings all of that to his mandates with clients often referencing his kindness and ability to always see a way through in a complex and changing world.

Since 2022, Joe has co-led the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Our lawyers regularly advise individuals and charities in need of legal support and we have long-standing relationships with various pro bono organisations and legal advice centres.
