Joanna is a Partner in the Commercial Real Estate team, specialising in landlord and tenant matters within commercial transactions. She has particular expertise in negotiating commercial leases, including turnover rent arrangements, as well as handling the full suite of ancillary transactions.
With over 15 years’ experience, Joanna is highly skilled in advising on the asset management, redevelopment and refinancing of shopping centres, retail parks and industrial estates for commercial institutions.
As part of our Retail and Leisure team, Joanna predominantly acts for large‑scale institutional landlords. She has worked on many of the UK’s top 20 shopping centres, giving her in‑depth insight into the complexities of running and managing these assets. She also has extensive experience in the acquisition, sale and ongoing asset management of industrial estates and retail parks on behalf of pension funds.
Joanna prides herself on delivering clear, pragmatic advice with efficiency and precision. She prioritises understanding client objectives, progressing matters swiftly, and ensuring her clients’ positions are robustly protected.
Passionate about developing talent within the firm, Joanna regularly trains our trainees on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and has delivered sessions to the wider Real Estate team on turnover rent leases.
