Joanna is Counsel in the Commercial Real Estate team where she specialises in landlord and tenant matters in commercial transactions, with a strong emphasis on negotiating commercial leases, including turnover rent leases and ancillary transactions.
With over 15 years’ experience, Joanna is highly specialised in advising on the asset management, redevelopment and refinancing of shopping centres, retail parks and industrial estates for commercial institutions.
Working in our Retail and Leisure team on commercial real estate matters, she largely acts for large-scale institutional landlords. Joanna has worked on the top 20 shopping centres in the UK giving her in-depth knowledge of the work involved in running and managing the asset management of a shopping centre. She also has vast expertise acting on the sale and acquisition and asset management for pension funds on various industrial estates and retail parks.
Joanna prides herself on providing clients with sound advice in an efficient manner. She prioritises understanding the client’s objectives and the need to get matters completed promptly whilst ensuring their position is sufficiently protected.
Passionate about upskilling our team, Joanna regularly delivers sessions to our trainees on the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and has provided training to our wider Real Estate team on turnover rent leases.
